PUROH has a small cartridge containing a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution housed in a compartment that is drawn in by a small fan. A small ozone-based catalyst initiates the same chain reaction that occurs in nature. The vector of this reaction is the so-called neutral hydroxyl radicals, which are molecules composed of one oxygen and one hydrogen atom.
