PUROH is a device that replicates the natural phenomenon of the Open-Air Factor. The disinfectant and preservative role of air has been known for centuries. Drying and curing of foods outdoors has been practiced for millennia, but the chemical process was identified relatively recently: In open air, in spaces with clean and clear air, neutral hydroxyl radicals abound, produced in the upper layers of the atmosphere and are responsible for the disinfecting reaction called the Open-Air Factor. PUROH identified this natural reaction and has been able to replicate it in different devices according to their use or application.
In food preservation, PUROH acts by its microbiological control power, eliminating saprophytic bacteria that spoil and damage food, significantly increasing its conservation period. It also helps prevent the risk of accidental contamination. In the case of fruits and vegetables, PUROH improves their ripening because it replicates the one produced in the plant through its oxidative stress, which makes the fruits tastier and more nutritious by increasing their sugar and antioxidant levels. PUROH achieves a ripening process similar to that on the tree or plant.
